The following pictures were all taken from The Mars Orbital Camera (MOC) raw image frame #3506.  To retain their original resolution these pictures are very large.  It is my hope that you have a fast internet connection.  If not, please be patient I think you'll find them worth the wait.

    MOC frame #3506 caught my attention a few months ago when it was first published in jpeg format on JPL's MGS mission page.  The picture I first downloaded was taken off their site a short time after I first downloaded it and was replaced by a page that cut out the middle section of the frame. http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/mgs/msss/camera/images/science_paper/f2/index.html

Unfortunately, this just happened to be exactly the area I was interested in.  Luckily I had kept a copy.
    Recently the Flagstaff office of the U.S. Geological Survey made all of the images taken during the MGS aerobraking phase  available in raw MOC image format.  I decided to see if I could find the raw data file for the image that had interested me so much before.  I found it, and the higher resolution image left me with more questions rather than answers

    It is my belief that the center of this frame shows some extremely interesting features that deserve to be investigated further.   I present them here so that you can see them for yourself.  These anomalies do not require you to squint to see them nor do they require intense magnification to see.

まず、画面右上の大きなピラミッド状のオブジェクトに注目して欲しい。これはすぐに、私の目を引き、さらに接近してそれを見るように仕向けた。そこに私は3つの理由から尋常でないものを見つけた。
 
The above image has had no enhancements done to it besides conversion from the raw MOC data to a "jpeg" file (compression set to 0) for web viewing and mirroring for correct representation of the surface.  All objects discussed in this page can be found in the above frame.  If you would like to download the raw image data for your self, click on the picture.
    I would like to first call your attention to the large pyramid like object in the top right corner of this frame.  It caught my eye right away and is what caused me to look closely.  I find it unusual for three reasons;

• It sides are sharply defined in a classic pyramid shape.
• It is extremely bright.  It seems to focus the morning sun straight up into the camera lens almost to the point of creating glare. This suggest to me a highly reflective, angled surface.
• On closer inspection it clearly shows lines that are not only parallel with each other but also with the surface, suggesting step like sides.

このオブジェクトのまわりを見回した後で、さらに興味深い形を見つけた。これらの不可思議なものは変形なしにオリジナルを見ることができる。私はそれらを拡大して下にそれぞれコメントをつけた。

After looking around this object I found more interesting forms.  Though these anomalies can be seen without straining in the original resolution  I have enlarged them below to comment on each.

上に示されたオブジェクトは画像の中央の左上に見つけたものである。３本の線、それは各々の方向に向いているのだが、崩壊した構造で４つの面のうち３つの残された壁を示唆していることをはっきり示している。

The object shown above can be found just upper left of center in the above frame.  It clearly shows three lines whose orientation to each other seems to suggest three remaining walls of four sided, collapsed structure.

このセットのオブジェクトは中央右に見ることが出来る。右のオブジェクトは崩壊したピラミッドで、左の輝くオブジェクトは部分的に崩壊したハンガーのようだ。しかし、ここにはオブジェクトがある程度対称的に配置されているようだが確信はもてない。あなたが中央のこの像をじっくり見るまでは。私はお互いが模写された高度に複雑な形の２個の構造物を見つけびっくりした。それらを分かりやすく下に示した。

This set of objects can be found just lower right of center.  The object on the right looks suspiciously like a collapsed pyramid and the bright object on the left looks like a partially collapsed hanger.  However, although there is some symmetry in these objects there is hardly anything particularly convincing here.  That is until you look closely at the center of this image.  I was amazed to find two structures that are highly complex in shape yet they are replicas of each other. I've highlighted them below.

これは私にとって今までに無い重要な発見で、最初にピラミッドが私を導いた。 私はここ地球では多くの場所に出かけたが、火星の画像では注意して認識する以上にもっといろいろなものを見た、私はこのような２個の複雑な像、形がお互いに良く似ていて接近して存在する自然の岩の形成物を見たことが無い。


  To me this is an even more significant find then the pyramid that drew me to this image in the first place.  I have been a lot of places here on Earth and I've looked at more Mars pictures than I care to admit and I have never seen two complex, natural rock formations that are this close in shape and in such close proximity to each other.

これは何であろうか？ＪＰＬ（ジェット推進研究所）のコンピューターの画像に現れる「ゴースト効果」によって引き起こされる「バグ･欠陥」なのか。しかし完全に画像の上から下までこの効果を調べた。しかしそこにあるものしか見えなかった。「バグ」を除外は出来ないが、その可能性は少ないように確かに思える。私が考えられない他のもの、言ったりする以外のもの、つまり直接この以下のことを思いつかせた。

    What is this?  It could very well be a bug in JPL's computer system that is causing a "ghosting effect" on the picture.  However I would expect to see this effect up and down the entire length of the frame.  I don't, I only see it here.  That doesn't rule out a bug but it sure seems to narrow that possibility.  Other than that I won't speculate other than to say it immediately reminded me of this.

私は「火星-エジプト」理論の大いなる提案者ではないので間違えないように。私はこのサイトの考え方を決して押し付けたりしたくないし、確かにそのようなことは起こりそうにはない。私は単に、しばしば地球の上で、大きい岩石でつくられたものではないが、対の大きい像を見かけることを指摘したい。そして私はこれらの対の像が私の脳裏に最初にひらめいた。

しかし、このふたつに非常に似たもの、自然で、複雑な岩の形成物、隣あって置いてあるものの写真をお持ちの方はお送り願いたい。私のホームページで紹介したいので。

    I am not a big proponent of the "Mars-Egypt" theories so don't get me wrong here.  I never want to push any one avenue of thought on this site and certainly not one that I myself find rather improbable.  I simple wanted to point out that on earth we often find large statutes in pairs not large rock formations.  And I must admit these two guys were the first ones that popped into my head.  However, if someone has a picture of two closely matched, natural, complex rock formations sitting right next to each other, send it to me.  I will put it up on this page as well.

I know, I know not another face!  I can't help it, it's there and I felt I should point it out before I get hundreds of e-mail  messages from others pointing it out.  Actually, I almost wish it wasn't there because it will be the first thing the critics attack and the lunatics embrace.  Anyway I call it Mr. Peanut because it kinda looks like him and he shouldn't be taken too seriously.

  I believe I have identified number of extremely anomalous formations (sigh, yes and Mr. Peanut) that even if found by themselves would warrant further investigation.  The fact that they have been found together in one area demands it.  It is my hope that this page will encourage serious scientific research into the objects found in this frame.
